She's back...FUJIFILM Global FinePix S5700

Most everyone noticed my picture uploads decreased in the past couple of months. Let's just say with a camera that got broken on a football field with two boys and their mom, I am happy to have my new camera. Increase the eye candy. Mainly, just happy to resume documenting our days together. I really appreciate my camera all the more now. It is true, absence makes the heart grow fonder. And I have the family all ready to give me a smile after all that time off. ;)

Here's the latest manuel I should be reading.... FUJIFILM Global FinePix S5700.

Tender Colorado Carolina Christmas

A few of the fun things of the day, the boys loved their LEGO CITY sets.
Airplane's in the stockings, isn't it funny the way Santa gets all the credit! ;)
And the biggest fun was surprising 'all my men' with RADICA SNOWBOARDER the video game!!!
Here in Carolina Country that is saying something for Mountain Man.  OK, it's actually
saying Southern Girl turned Carolina Mama really tried because Mountain Man says it is
nothing like the powder in his native Colorado.  I know he is right, I know it in my heart.
I know it in my soul because I love that powder that only Colorado produce.  Even if I am
a Skiier and am Southern proud of it.

Let me tell you there is nothing like watching the Tigers and Mountain Man on that
Snowboard right in our living room when we are supposed to reach 65 degrees today.
And did I tell you the little Cherubs got Daddy two gallons of Snow for Christmas!
Priceless!

Amy Grant was right, "I know there's more snow up in Colorado than my roof ever will see,
but a tender 'Carolina' Christmas is the only Christmas for me!"  And with the 0 temps in
the Rockies this past week, we're not missing it - too much. ;)

Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas to all!

"And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ[a] the Lord. 12This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger. Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests." Luke 2: 8-14

May the joy of the season be yours.
Here's to a great 2008!

Santa Clause is coming to town
Tonight the children will see Santa Clause. Talk about exciting. I just love the excitment and gleam in their eyes when we talk about seeing Santa. And the fact that Christmas is only five days away. Mainly, I'm thankful as we enjoy the season. Have you taken a moment to reflect on Christmas last? Where you are today?! And just so you know, we actually saw a few flecks of sleet/snow this morning! That's fun!

A Christmas Rain, Cold and Time Marches On :)
We've just gotten exactly what our great state needed - a nice and steady Christmas rain. It's cold and we're loving it. We're in a good spot this eight days before Christmas. Packages are mailed, Christmas card is sitting ready to be ordered and that's ok! :) We're usually the ones who mail them the first weekendin December. Some years we mix it up. This year is one of them. Love our pictures. love our cards, and love not stressing and having everything done so we can enjoy the season. So you can thank us when you get yours for extending the season. We always enjoy that when others do it. A little early, merry merry!

This year it is really on my heart the children are growing up fast. Our are little tykes ok, little people. Even still, it's' moving in a forward motion that reminds me I want to hold back time. Every time I buy the next size up and think I am buying too big or just for the length, I realize these 'little cherubs' are growing. May they be all that the God we celebrate wants them to be. Amen.

Celebrating the Reason for the Season

The boys are enjoying the lights this year with such enthusiasim. And I have to tell ya'll they l.o.v.e the Nativity Scenes. Of course, we all do. It's funny how these are becoming more and more special each year. Who know, there just may be a Manger Scene in our near future of outdoor Christmas decor. It is indeed about the Birth of Christ for us. I will say I'm looking forward to giving and enjoying gifting. Yet, staying focused on the true meaning of this glorious season is our aim. The Nativity Story really set the stage for us. We had not seen it before this year. Other than fastforwarding a few of the scenes of the Roman soldiers and their antics, it was such a great depiction of what Christmas really is about for those who Believe.

I loved seeing Mary and Joseph in their roles. As a parent, this takes a completely different meaning. One I treasure and want to uphold.

On to logistics, luckily for me, I've used our dear friend, the world wide web to help me along with my purchases this year. It has been delightful and stress free. And how much more enjoyable than a parking lot full of tense drivers. Or lines of the same. And with all that free shipping, I think I've made a smart move. Now to wrap the presents that I do need to wrap. We're about half way with the wrapping project. Food isn't such a big deal this year. You heard me, that's saying a lot down South ya'll. Honestly, I have not found myself in the kitchen as much with our traditional recipes. We're still having the treats - particularly Thanks to our homegrown bakery, www.gambinos.com You're in for a treat if you consider adding what we call Christmas cake but it is their convivial, festive Doberge cake. Chocolate of all chocolate and quintessentially New Orleans. Joie de vive! Whose counting but we have Twelve Days Until Christmas! What do you have left to do?! Remember to take time to celebrate Baby Jesus!
